My experience using Tim Manton as my boat broker was extraordinary. My boat had been on the market for 24 months with two different brokers before I listed it with Clark's Landing. In the few months that he had the listing, Tim showed my boat more than the other two brokers combined.
We live 425 miles away from the marina. When we were off the boat for weeks at a time, I would leave her buttoned up, i.e., carpets rolled up, air-conditioning off, etc. Each time he showed the boat Tim boarded her, opened her up, turned on the air-conditioning and made her presentable. That made a big difference to our peace of mind. During one of the bad summer storms, we were off the boat. During the storm, Tim checked on her several times and reported how she was riding in the slip. He also boarded her after the storm to make sure everything was okay, giving us peace of mind from a distance so far away.
When it came to offers, I had a few low-ballers who were just testing the market. Tim was very discreet and discerning. He presented the offers to me in a way that I was confident he was looking out for my best interests. He always carefully laid out the good and bad points of an offer and gave me sound advice regarding potential buyers. In addition to selling my boat, Tim was a pleasure to deal with. He was always available, always professional, always optimistic. I knew I could trust his word and his judgment and had absolute confidence in his ability. Tim is a true exemplar of honesty, enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile to accommodate clients.
To sum up my commendation for Tim, I will just tell you two things. First, I have recommended him to my friends who are considering selling their boat and, secondly, if I get back into the market I will contact him first as a buying agent.
Finally, if I ran Clark's Landing, I would clone him.

We recently took possession of our new Beneteau 34S, and learned that Clarks Landing is a CLASS operation. From our first introduction to Clarks Landing via Fred Beu at the Annapolis Boat Show last fall, to the purchasing process with Ray and Amy, to the delivery process with Drew, along with Justin, Rick, Chris, Calvin and others, the process was seamless and positive.
Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Plus, everyone was knowledgeable. This is the 13th boat we have purchased and this experience was by far the best.
The opportunity to spend time with Captain Phil was both educational and added to our boating knowledge. What a great perk!
